We all know that Keanu Reeves in "The Matrix" could do some weird stuff such as avoiding bullets with ease. We've got every reason to believe that he script writers of "The Matrix" however were hardcore boxing fans who had seen Thai great Samart Payakaroon (21-2, 12).

Samart was a former kickboxer turned boxer (like many top Thai's) and in the 1980's he became the WBC Super Bantamweight champion. Unfortunately his pro career was somewhat short lasting just 23 bouts though he did fight in 4 world title bouts claiming wins over Lupe Pintor and Juan Meza whilst losing to Jeff Fenech and Eloy Rojas.

The highlight of Samart's career however must be the way he influenced the character of "Neo", as you can see in the clip below.
